Firestone was a central figure in the early development of radical feminism and second-wave feminism and a founding member of three radical-feminist groups: New York Radical WomenRedstockingsand New York Radical Feminists. They chose to raise their own consciousness by studying the lives of women, and they focused on aspects such as their childhood, jobs, radical change in ba, and motherhood.
